We were home from Lake Tahoe for only two days before we headed to Houston! Jeff's mom was kind enough to fly out and pick us up. We left on Tuesday and flew with the boys from Salt Lake to Houston via Denver. (Reed checking the status of our next flight)
The boys were really really good. The first leg was only an hour long and we were able to entertain them for that period of time. We watched Mickey on our DVD players and had snacks. Then we got to Denver and were able to let the boys run around a lot.
We had lunch there too (McDonald's our fav) and then we got ready for the next leg. It was longer but it was also naptime so we were hoping the boys would go to sleep for some of it.
The boys fell asleep almost right away and we got to enjoy a quiet ride to Houston. (Grant before he took his nap) It helps that we brought their seats on board and they had no way to escape.
Once in Houston we were greeted with HOT HOT Humid weather. Since everyone works during the day, Anne and I got to take the kiddos places during the day. We went to Discovery Greens in Downtown. It's a really neat park with water features and playgrounds.
The boys had a great time just running around the foutains and splashing.
There was an icecream truck parked on the side of the road next to the fountains. So Grangie got the boys so snowcones. They really liked the sweet taste.
Grant was kind enough to share with Reed after Reed's feel on the ground.
All this playing sure did make for some sleepy babies though. They slept so well the whole time just from being run to death!! :)
They also had this cool looking fountain. It felt like rain when you would stand under it. It wasn't as entertaining for the boys though.
On Thursday we went to the Zoo with my good friend Jeff Toby and Anne. It was soooooooo hot but we still had a blast. I think if you expect to get soaked from sweat it makes you feel cooler. :) Anyway, the boys love elephants and had a great time seeing one in person.
We also headed over to the petting zoo. Although they should call it the petting goats. Other than one sad looking sheep, all they had were goats. Don't get me wrong, it was still entertaining but really? No chickens, lambs? Anything else??
They did have a bucket of brushes for you to use to brush the animals. It was nice but they also became tools to hit with.
After the zoo on Thursday we headed up to the lake house for the weekend. Anne and I were at the dollar store in town looking for balls when we found some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse lawn chairs. We both knew it was too cool to pass them up so Grangie got them for the boys. They were so excited when they came down from their nap and saw Mickey.
Jeff came on Friday and spent the next week with us. I'll post more pictures soon. Stay tooned...
