Spoon Feeders, almost

We have a tradition that the boys watch their Baby Einstein video right before bed to help them settle down and get ready to go to sleep. Well, ever since we switched to one nap a day they are very sleepy at the end of the day. Sleepy means very snuggley. (Grant and Jeff)

Daddy and his boys watching the movie. It's so nice when they are happy and calm and not hurting eachother.

Grant loves to walk like this. It's so funny. He stick his butt way up in the air and walks like a caveman or something.

So I was reading in one of my books that they have to start learning how to use a spoon and fork. So I thought it would be good practice to try and eat a smoothie out of a bowl. Bad idea. Not only was it too cold but they were more interested in the spoon as a toy.

The other problem was the it was so cold they couldn't touch it with their hands. Grant got so upset and frustrated towards the end that he started to cry. :( Next time maybe we will try somthing like yogurt.

Grant has gotten really good at saying no, or atleast with his head.

He also plays a mean game of peek-a-boo. For some reason he has decided that he needs to smoosh his nose in and make that weird sound. Now Reed is doing it too. Reed can say "boo" when he does it but I haven't been able to catch it on video yet. Stay tuned!

Much Better in SLC

It's been a while since we were able to post anything. We came down with a terrible stomach bug. At first we thought it was just the babies, but then I got it and Jeff got it too. It knocked us OUT! Now that we are feeling better I thought I would give everyone an update. Here's Reed standing behind his walking toy. He can walk along the furniture but prefers to stand behind this toy.

Grant can do it much better. He loves to push it around the living room, when he doesn't get distracted.

Reed showing me "so big" after he finished coming up the stairs. Now that they can do it alone, it's much easier on my back to go up with them. :)

Sad news to report. Our best best friend Katrina moved away on Wednesday. That leaves us with -1 friends. She was the boys' nurse in the NICU and my very best friend here. We are going to miss her so much and hope that she has a good time in Chicago.

I have some new laundry helpers. The boys love it when we do laundry. We got to do plenty while we were all sick. They love to bang on the washing machine and they love to close the dryer door.

Such good helpers. We got a good report from our Early intervention nurse today. She said they are right on schedule for their adjusted age!! (Grant left, Reed Right)

Both the boys have gotten really good at playing Peek-a-boo. Here's Reed showing me the game with his bib. They love to play with a blanket too.

Play Ball

Aunt Karen got the boys some push toys that are also bikes while she was here for vacation. Grant loves to sit on it, but can't push it anywhere. Reed just goes backwards. (Grant)

Jeff was tossing their ball to them and they loved it. At first it would bounce off the bike, but it was much funnier (to them) if you bounce it off their head. Go figure. They are getting so close to saying the word ball. Right now it sounds like BONK but we know it's ball. Grant just says BA but we know what he means. So we try and play ball as much as we can.

What a Mess

We had spaghetti for the first time. What a mess. Especially since they are obsessed with putting things in their hair. (Reed)

They seemed to like it though. I think they liked the change of pace. (Reed)

Grant was a little neater with it, but not much.
This is also when Grant decided that he likes to pick his nose.
The boys have started doing "SO BIG". They raise their arms when I say it, but they are not very consistent. I have tried to get it on video, but haven't had too much luck. Grant usually raises one arm. They have also started waving, but again not very consistently. I'll keep trying to catch them on video.
Last week we also went to see our NICU friends to have a little play date reunion. Here are the boys with baby Whit and Baby Jonah. It's always so nice to see our old friends from the NICU especially since they are all so healthy. We are so blessed that we all came out of that experience with not major problems.

Swings

We went to a really cool park near our house. We just found out about it and it is soooooo cool. They have tons of baby swings and play areas to run around. It's going to be great once they can walk. Here's Grant LOVING the swing.

Reed had so much fun laughing and swinging. They both cried when we left.
Jeff did a great job pushing them.
The boys seemed to tip if they were in one swing.

So we put them together and they did great.

It was nice to have another baby to balance the swing.
