Backpack Backpack

Guess who got their packpacks in the mail?!?!?!

The boys are now offically ready for school to start. They will be going to John Wesley United Methodist Church's Pre-K on MWF starting September 8th.

We are sooooooo excited about being big boys and starting school that we will NOT take our backpacks off. Grant also insists on carrying the lunch box around also.

Reed also keeps saying that he's going to ride the bus to school. To which I respond that there isn't a bus that goes to school and I will take him. To which responds that yes there is and he will wait outside. He really doesn't believe me and keeps insisting that he will wait outside. It's going to be a long wait Reed.

We're Having a Heat Wave...

It's been hot hot hot here in Houston!! We've been finding relief anywhere we can. Here's Grant at the Grocery Store where he got his face painted with a baseball. He thought it was the coolest thing EVER!!

Reed got a basketball. Too cool dude!!
Jeff's cousin Cody came in from Canada because he and his family are moving back!! He came a week before his mom and brothers so we took him to Noah's Ark!

It's a super cool pool at a church closer into town. You pay $6 and can stay all day. The boys LOVED it!! (even the big slide)

The main attraction in the middle is an "ark" with a slide. The water is only calf-deep so it's really safe for kids who are not expert swimmers. (Grant coming off the slide)

Cody and Reed

It was soooooooo HOT that day. Anne was just chillin' on the edge of the pool keeping an eye on everyone. We played a fun game while we were hanging out. Having both been teachers, we would pick out the kids that we KNEW would be TROUBLE in the classroom. They are so easy to spot.

The guys going up the rope ladder for another turn down the slide.

This is the bottom of the twisty slide.

Grant man!

We also got to go to my friend Kristen's house and play for the day. :) My boys love all toys that are not theirs. Reed was just in LOVE with this Dora music player, pink headphones and all.

The main reason we went over there was for this cool slide. (And the wonderful company)

This thing is SOOOOOOOO cool!! The boys loved climbing up to the top with Riley and Jack and going to town. Thanks again Ramsey family!! (Reed coming down the slide)

Reed going up the middle, Grant going down the slide.

The boys have come really far with swimming this summer. They started off not really swimming at all. Now they can swim all over the pool with water wings. They can also swim a little without them. We are still taking lessons to help the "without" part.

We can even be thrown in and make it out ok. Jeff likes to jump into the deep end with them, I'm not ok with this.

Reed loves to jump off the edge. It makes Jeff nervous..

Stop....Potty Time

Today is exactly 3 weeks of potty training the boys. We are so proud of how well they are doing!!

They are getting better and better about going peepee in the potty. Not so much on #2. Reed was helping Grant by reading "Everyone Poops" to him while he sat.

Needless to say we've been close to home latley. So we have to think of things to do. Like have a backyard picnic.

We packed lunches and headed out. The boys thought it was so much fun!

To help motivate the boys to poop in the potty we have been buying them toys when they do. Reed got this bat and ball after a successful trip to the potty. Grant did not. That was a hard trip to Wal-Mart.
Reed was nice enough to let Grant play with him. He got to hold the ball for Reed while he was the batter. Neither one understood that you are supposed to throw the ball. So Reed just started swinging away and hit Grant in the face. :(

After I showed them it went a little better. The good news is that Grant had a good trip to the potty that night and got a bat and ball of his own. :)

We've had a few more #2 accidents but we are really starting to get it. Last night they both went and they got to have some golf clubs.

It's going to look like a sporting goods store in my house by the time we are done. Good thing Wal-Mart toys are cheap.

Happy 4th!!

What a busy busy week leading up to the 4th of JULY!! It all started with Krystal's trip down to Houston from Salt Lake for the ECLIPSE premier!!!! We had a GREAT time. IT was soooooo much fun. We had our traditional party before heading over to the theater to catch the 12:01 showing!! It was amazing!! Best one yet!!!

Our friend Rob (Edward) stopped by the party to hang with us because we are super cool!!

The theater we went to this time was different and CRAZY. There were lines everywhere and it was packed!! We still got good seats and got them together. It was a late night but sooooooo worth it!! I want to see it 100 more times. Can't wait for the next one but it's not until 2011!!! UGH!!

The same day I took Krystal to the airport I picked up Katrina!! I'm a lucky girl!! She came into town to go see Wicked with us on Saturday. It was SOOOOO good. We had a nice lunch with Lacey and Anne and then saw the matinee. Like our shirts?!?!? What's an event without a shirt???

I'm a Yankee doodle dandy..... Happy 4th!! We didn't get to do anything exciting on the actual 4th. Katrina had to leave (booooo) and Jeff was on call (double boooo). So we hung at the house and didn't do anything exciting.

These two are getting more and more difficult when it comes to taking their pics!! HOLD still and look at mommy!!

While we were at Wicked the guys were busy building the swing set!! They got as far as they could considering the fire ant problem and the fact that we didn't have all the right pieces.

Jeff finished it the next day and the boys LOVE it!! Thanks again G-pa and Grangie.

Each morning when they wake up they say "Can I play with my swing set?"
It's sooooo nice to have it right here in our own yard!!

We're loving life here at the Beck house!

Go Reed go!!

While we were waiting for Daddy to finish building it Grant was singing for me. This wheel goes with the swing set. Too cute!!

Happy Birthday Boys!!!

Monday was my anniversary!! Jeff and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. We've been together for 11 years!! YIKES. We went to eat at Pei Wei with the kiddos in celebration. It was yummy.

Three days after our 4th wedding anniversary we welcomed our little guys!! I can't believe it's been 3 years since they came along. They woke up yesterday and were given the choice of anything they wanted for breakfast.

I offered to make them waffles, pancakes, you name it. They chose to have Lucky Charms with milk.....and bacon.

Reed eating his birthday cereal.

Got some more cute shirts for their birthday. LOVE them. What a handsome three-year-old. (Grant)

My guys are so big!

WE had a family party on Sunday so yesterday for their actual birthday we went to Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch with some friends. We had a great time. They ate a ton of pizza and had fun running around with the other kiddos.

Not to mention the fact that CHUCK E. was there!! They kept giving him coins/tokens. I had to explain to them that Chuck E. owned the place and didn't need their tokens. They couldn't get over the fact that he was really there. They kept saying "Hi Chuck".

After nap time yesterday we had a special delivery. Grandpa and Emmy got the boys a small bounce house.

They waited a whole 5 minutes before they asked me to blow it up so they could play with it. They LOVE it.

Not to mention the fact that it burns a huge amount of energy! Wish we had one of these during winter in Salt Lake. :)

I made the boys cupcakes for their birthday. I was really proud of the job I did and I wanted to use my cupcake stand.

Grant enjoying his birthday cupcake.

Reed was loving it so much he wouldn't stop to look at the camera. Happy birthday to my sweet sweet boys. You've come so far and I'm so excited to share the rest of our lives together.
