Zoo Trip and Birthday Party

Feelin' hot hot hot!! I'm not going to complain too much because it's waaaayyyyyy better to be hot than cold (and have snow) but it's been HOT here lately. I mean HOT. So the boys and I have been trying to think of ways to beat the heat. They usually involve some sort of cold/frozen treat. We went for slushies at Sonic and we had ice cream at McDonald's. (Reed)

It's soooooo hot out that the ice cream didn't even stand a chance. Grant

We've been playing in the sprinklers and with our cool bucket toys. Daddy found these at Wal-Mart at the end of last summer season. We didn't get a chance to play with them then but are LOVING them now.

You just push the buck down on the base and the water fills it from the bottom up. So cool!!

They just kept watering the grass, my feet, and each other.

Mr. Archie just laying in the sun trying to relax while two 3-year-olds walk around with buckets of water. Not an easy task.

My handsome little men are turning three on Thursday so we decided to celebrate over the weekend. We went to the zoo with Uncle Whitney, Daddy, and my friends Jeff and John. We had such a great time. It was like a thousand degrees out so that part wasn't fun but we still had a good time.
Reed near the elephants.

The boys thought the giraffes were sooooooo cool!!

In the petting zoo we got to help brush the goats.

Grant with a calm goat.

The carousel at the zoo.
After we got home from the zoo it was nap time. During nap time Jeff, Whit, and I decorated the house for the afternoon party. When the boys woke up they were ready to Par-ty. (Reed)
The boys just wanted to sit at the table and look at their cakes. (Diego cakes)
Grangie and Grandpa are getting the boys a swing set for their birthday and Jeff and I got them some cool stuff from little tikes that's not here yet sooooooo, the only gifts they had were from Auntie Lacey and Uncle Whitney and Auntie Kristen and Uncle Doug and Justin and Alexa.

They got two new cozy coupes from them!!! How cool!!! They LOVE them. They ride them all over the house!! (BTW....thanks uncle Whitney and daddy for putting them together. Who know you would need a PHD in little tikes to figure it out)

Then it was time to sing Happy Birthday!!!!
My guys!!

Grant blowing out his candles.

Make a wish Reed.

Grant eating his cake. They got to pick their own cakes this year. They both picked a "Diego" cake but Grant picked white cake and Reed picked chocolate.

Reed digging in to his cake!

We weren't really watching Grant that closely and he was sticking his fork into the big cake in front of him instead of the piece on his plate. He got in a few big bites before we saw what he was up to. Their actual birthday is on Thursday and we are going to Chuck E Cheese's. I'll post pics afterwards.

We've Moved!!!

Here's a pic of our new house!! I love it!! WE have soooooooo much room!! We can spread out and we are! I've gotten most of our things unpacked and put away. The project continues and will for the next few weeks.

Before we moved....we were living with Jeff's mom and dad (thanks again for having us for so long) and the boys got to be spoiled by Grangie. After she went with us to swim lessons she decided they needed goggles. They have put them to good use in the tub.

Perfect for keeping out the soap.

We had to paint a few of the bedrooms at the new house. So before the movers brought our stuff we got into the house and painted. And by "we" I mean Jeff and Whitney and sometimes me. Lacey and I spent our time watching the boys play in their new super Texas sized backyard.

Reed quickly figured out how to drink the water out of the sprinkler...

My Reed boy.

The guys finding trouble in their new yard.

We took the day off of painting on Memorial Day and decided to run up to the lake house. G-Pa Was kind enough to take the boys on their first tube ride behind the boat.

The chariot. No really that's what it's called.

Reed was so excited he didn't understand why we had to drive the boat to the middle of the lake. As soon as we put the tube in he wanted to get on. :)

Grant getting ready.

Jeff got on first.

The boys got on next.

And away they went.....

They had such a good time that Reed cried when we took him off. :( After Jeff went with them, uncle Whitney got on too. (It's hard to see but all four of them are on there)

Swimming Lessons

The boys are getting so big!! I've really been trying to let them do more on their own (since they are going to pre-school in the fall) and not do everything for them. So, they can put on their crocs without any help!!! The only problem is that they don't always get them on the right feet. It's toooo cute!!

We love being back in Texas for the warm weather and the TEXAS rainstorms!!! On Friday afternoon the sky turned black and then opened up. It was so fun for Jeff and I to see it again and to let the boys to run around in the rain.

Look at those smiling faces!! They had such a great time. The best part was no bath in the tub. They had a bath from nature.

Most of our time has been just consumed with swimming lessons!! Both the boys were a little unsure of the water, the teacher, and the actual swimming part.

For two lessons both of them cried the WHOLE time. They did get over it and started to participate nicely. Reed boy getting his swim on.

Look at Reed go to the edge!!

Here's a little video of Grant swimming to the edge. They are getting so good so fast!! We can't wait to go to the lake house and practice. We sure do LOVE Miss Whiteny and all her swimming help. 5 more lessons to go and then watch out Micahel Phelps.

The boys have gotten really really good at riding their tricycles now. Usually when I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner or putting stuff away, the boys ride their bikes in the garage. We have also stopping watching Mickey and LOVE "Go Diego". They love to ride in the garage saying "Go Diego Go!!" It's too cute. I'll try and get a better video of it. :)

Happy Mother's Day

We've been soaking up the rays and learning to deal with the humidity down here in Houston. It's been non-stop fun since we got here! Grangie and G-papa's house on the lake is nearly finished and we can hardly wait. We went up a few weekends ago and had a great time playing in the finished pool.

The boys are loving the "baja shelf" and it's 6" depth. They had such a great time just playing and splashing around. We also became very aware of the fact that the boys need swimming lessons like yesterday. So we have started, pictures to come shortly.

The house isn't done yet and doesn't have anything in it yet so we had a picnic lunch on a moving blanket. It was a lot of fun.

Back in Houston the boys have been very helpful with the daily chores. Especially watering the fountain and plants. Taking turns is sooooooo hard when you're 3!!!

This past weekend we had a really nice mother's day with the family. Jeff and I stayed behind while the others went to see Granny in Brenham. Hopefully next year Jeff's won't be on-call and we can go too!! I got some cute new shoes from my boys that I had my eye on. Lacey got a pair too!!! We are such lucky moms!!

The boys having fun with Uncle Whitney trying to put him in "time-out".

Bluebonnets and Feeding the Ducks

There isn't much I love more than the Texas Bluebonnets in the spring!! It's my favorite time of year here and I've missed it for the past 3 years!! I couldn't wait until I could get the boys out in the floweres for a perfect pic!! It was a little harder than I thought it was going to be. We drove out to Brenham to visit Jeff's Granny and found some flowers on the side of the road. With Anne's help I got a few good pics.

After we took some pics we headed to the small Brenham airport to have lunch. (Anne and the boys)

Looking at the planes. (with Flat Alexa)

The weather in Brenham was PERFECT!! It was like 73 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze. We had lunch outside and just enjoyed the beautiful landscape.

Later in the week we headed to Herman Park to ride the train and feed the ducks!! Jeff and Anne with the boys on the train.

The ducks were really excited to se that we had brought some bread with us.

Another beautiful day feeding the ducks and birds.
